Hello Guys, today I want to share an idea with you that came to my mind recently! I think everybody who plays on this server for a bit is familiar with the following scenario: You just got home from school or work, and are ready to hop into a nice and crispy round of skywars. You jump in the portal, wait for the round to start, aaaaand.... get killed by somebody with insane reach, or minimal to no knockback. You are 99% sure that the person was hacking, but you think: maybe he is just a very good player, so you check his /money, just to see that his balance is 3Skybucks.. Now you are 100% sure that your opponent was hacking, and you are now facing this question: Do you create a post on the forum, and upload evidence, or just jump into another round and hope to not face him again? I am honest with you guys, sometimes, if i am very tired, I just keep playing because I am too lazy to report the player. I think it would be a very nice thing, to add a feature to the game that rewards you for reporting a player, that actually ends up getting banned. It could be a small amount of skybucks, or you could make a competition out of it, and add a new counter to the /stats page! Let me know what you think of this idea, ~Leofelixcraft PS: (I am very sorry if my english is not flawless, i am just a 16 y.o. student from Germany )
See im not one for this in a few ways and i am in some ways for one I don't agree with getting a reward for reporting and having them get banned, its enough of a reward for them to not be there anymore second, what I end up doing is sometimes telling mods whenever they are on they so and so are hacking then I brush it off, but mostly I just kinda ignore that they exist because if I die then I die its just a game. Im not sure if its against the rules and i doubt that it is but if you really care about your stats you could always play on an alt until the hacker is gone then play on your main, as for me i don't really care too much about my stats so i just wait them out and play like i normally would, but at the end of the day just vibe and let the hacker do his thing because all they want is for you to get mad. as frustrating as it may be i get that lol i have around 5500 games played so i know what it feels like to deal with hackers and they really arent worth your time -waterfall
The reward you’re getting is one less rule breaker... No support, people shouldn’t be paid to report players. It’s not mandatory but it does help others play properly and helps moderators prevent more hackers/rule breakers.
I agree with what boba has said above. There is also a way this could be exploited. If, for instance, the reward for reporting was sky bucks, someone could simply hack on one account, and report themselves on another account and get *unlimited* skybucks with an endless supply of alt (hacking) accounts.
Thanks for your feedback guys, yes you are right, one less rulebreaker should really be enough of a reward. However, on somedays I meet so many hackers that I feel like there can`t be that many people reporting them, if there are still so many of them. The potential of my idea getting exploited is something that is also there, but thank you for responding and having a thought about it!
true haha, sometimes you can get them with a smart move or they just glitch into the void with their stupid auto bridging
It would be pretty easy to exploit in my opinion, like Boba and Bree have explained. I personally think there is already incentive to report, that being the want to play a game where you stand a good chance of winning and having fun doing so. People hacking ruins the fun and chance of winning so by reporting it you are increasing your own chances of winning and having more fun.
If you're reporting players then you already have an incentive of wanting to make the server a better place. Not only does this benefit you, it also benefits the server as a whole as it's one less rule breaker like Boba said and that is your reward. The fact you took your time to make this suggestion, suggests to me that you enjoy playing the server, therefore you wouldn't mind going to the forums and making a full report thread which is how they are created, handled and archived. Also I don't recommend using a players /bal to determine whether or not they hack. Although an in game report feature would be ideal, it's not necessarily needed.
